Maize yield in response to alternating low- and high-density rows of diverse hybrids

چکیده
Production of rainfed summer crops like maize (Zea mays L.) must adapt to a changing climate and retain high productivity. Using diverse hybrids in the same stand is simple way unpredictable stresses during growing season. However, some are available at price premium therefore their use needs be cleverly incorporated system balance cost economic return. In two-year study Pennsylvania, we evaluated yield return response combinations two planting densities (4.6 8.9 plants m-2), arrangements (rows with density or alternating rows low medium overall density), (drought tolerant Aquamax non-drought Seedway hybrids), including mixtures both hybrid. Both experimental years received adequate rainfall for production. Regression showed that increasing plant by 1 m-2 increased biomass grain 2% range tested. hybrid 6% compared one years. analysis indicated lower returns when using higher density. density, high-density rows, optimized output yield. 2019, mixing suppressed reducing number kernels per ear 9% pure stands, mostly hybrid, which suggests combining compatible primary importance mixtures. rotations highly dependent on yield, combination defensive agronomic tactics keeps costs slightly below attainable as proposed here may result resilient profitable agricultural adapted variable climate.

Assessment Maize Hybrids Response to Biological and Chemical Nitrogen Fertilizers
This research set out to evaluate the effect of combined biological and chemical nitrogen fertilizers on some corn hybrids. To this end an experiment was conducted as split plot on the basis of randomized complete block design with four replications. Main plots were included: use of chemical and biological fertilizers in four levels: 100% chemical fertilizer, 75% chemical fertilizer + 100% bio-...

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Selection of desirable hybrids compared to other maize hybrids (Zea mays L.) is one of the methods used to achieve high grain yield in maize. Also, the most important morphological features affecting grain yield can be used in the selection and introduction of genotypes. Material and Methods: This study was conducted to investigate the relationshi...
